William Matthew Quinn
WILLIAM QUINN, 78, of Combine, Texas, peacefully passed away on August 29, 2023 surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult battle with an extended illness.
William was born on May 6, 1945 to William and Zita Regina Quinn in Willows, California. William served in the United States Army, (including a stint in Vietnam) for close to two decades. William was passionate about the Army and the military. and loved what he did for a living. So passionate enough, that he went on to teach JROTC studies at WW Samuell High School in Dallas, Texas, from 1985 to 2001. William retired in 2001 after close to 20 years of military service, and 16 years of teaching service in the DISD. While retired, William had time to pursue his love of horses and law being a volunteer member of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Posse. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Shin Ja, and his son William Quinn, daughter Margaret Metcalf (Thomas), and his 2 grandsons Matthew and Peter Metcalf. Services will be held at Dallas Eastern Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 at 5:00pm.
