Sharon Elizabeth Prater
Obituary
With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the Prater family announces the loss of Sharon Elizabeth (Armitage) Prater, who passed away on March 14th, 2023 at the age of 72.
Sharon was determined to have children, build her dream home, and become an RN, and she proudly accomplished all three. Murder mystery books, shows, and movies were her favorite. She was most content when listening to music – humming, singing, dancing along.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Gary, who we lost in 2018. They were married for 52 years and enjoyed taking road trips in their younger years. Sharon is survived by her three children – Bryan, Devonn, and John, her dearest sister – Sandra, and her grandchildren – Audrey and Lance.
We will remember our beautiful mom as an outspoken, inquisitive, independent, persevering, strong-willed woman who was ahead of her time. We are happy that she has rejoined her beloved brother, Danny, in Heaven.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: https://diabetes.org.
The entire family sends their love and appreciation to Wylie, TX Fire Rescue & Police Dept for their swift, compassionate, and dedicated service.
Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website. No services have been scheduled at this time.
Testimonials

It was such a nice pleasure to meet you, and what you had planned for my father just took my breath away. It was so special to hear you tell us how he would just come over to talk with you. I think it brought him much comfort. Tha you for putting that Air Force article of him on your website. I am going to have a replica made of the painting of his plane to give you. Thank you again for all you have done to honor our dad. Love, The Gillilands
