Obituary of
Rose Marie Pelky
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Rose Marie Pelky, who left us on June 7, 2023. Rose Marie blossomed into a charismatic, intelligent, loving, and dedicated mother, who filled our lives with joy and warmth. I am honored to share her story and celebrate her incredible life journey.
Our mom was blessed to come from a long line of strong, independent, forward-thinking women, at a time when men were the ones in charge. From an early age, those women instilled in our mom a great set of morals and values. They helped her find the courage to not be complacent, and to strive for a better life for herself, her husband, and her children. These values helped guide her daily through her life’s journey, both personally and professionally.
She was also dedicated to her career, as the Executive Assistant to VP-level executives at several international organizations. It was a testament to her intelligence and dedication. She was always willing to go above and beyond for her colleagues and loved ones. As Mother Teresa once said, “Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.” This quote embodies her spirit. She made it her mission to share love and happiness with everyone she met.
Even though she had retired, she maintained a very social calendar with her retiree friends from Campbell Taggert, The Addison Athletic Club Senior Group, The Dallas Model A Club, and, of course, her beloved group of friends from Lubec, where she and our father spent their summers.
Our parents loved to travel. Whether it was in a car, in an RV, flying, or taking cruises – they loved to see the world and learn about other cultures. As children, our entire family would do road trips across the US; and our mom would make our dad stop at every historical maker along the way, so she could read the signs out loud to us kids, to help educate us and instill the value of the heritage of the world we lived in. It was important to our parents that they provide their kids with the opportunities they didn’t have, and broaden our minds to other cultures. No matter where they went or what country they were in, if there was music, they would celebrate and dance together. When you watched them, they were so graceful and effortless that they brought smiles to everyone’s faces. You could see the joy and fun they were having dancing together.
Family meant everything to our mom. Her marriage of almost 65 years to her late husband, Ronald Pelky Sr, brought forth a beautiful family of four children, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. It was extremely important to her to make sure that her children remember their ancestors and where they came from. It was her legacy that she wanted to persevere. So much so, that when you came into our parents’ house and looked at the wall of family photos, you would notice that our mom had labeled every photo with the names of each family member, because she was trying to preserve their names and images for future generations.
Rose Marie is survived by her children – Leonard, Yvette, Ronald II and Lawrence; grandchildren – Christopher, Lauran, Sebastian, and Angela; and finally, the newest addition to the family – her great-grandchild, Konrad. We will forever cherish the memories we shared with our dear mom, and will remember her as a shining light in our lives, as we hope all her family and friend will, as well.
We encourage you to please join the family to help celebrate our mom’s life at her service on Monday, July 31st, at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, at 2800 Valwood Parkway, Farmers Branch, Texas. There will be a 9:30 AM rosary prayer prior to the service, for anyone who wishes to join.
But the main mass and service will begin at 10:00 AM, with a small gathering of remembrance in the lobby following. Please feel free to leave your memories and upload photos of Rose Marie to her memorial page, so we can all celebrate and honor her beautiful life together.

I miss you and always will. Thank you for the lifetime guidance you have given me and help shape the person I am today.
My late husband, Bill, and I spent many summers traveling with Ronald and Rose Marie. We were fortunate to visit them several times at their home in Lubec, Maine. A few years after my husband passed, my daughter, Jamie White, along with her son Jayden and I traveled cross country to Maine. This is one of the last pictures I have together with Ronald and Rose Marie.
Rose Marie was a dear friend and I will always have fond memories of them. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family.

Our beautiful, gracious Rosemarie
We are so saddened by the loss of Rosemarie, our very special friend.
I am at a loss for words to express the depth of sorrow I feel at the loss of my wonderful friend, Rose Marie. She was more than a best friend to me; she was my neighbor, my confidante, and my second mother. I am grateful for the time we shared together, and I will cherish the countless memories we created over the past 25 years. Rose Marie’s friendship has left a lasting mark on my life, and her memory will be forever etched in my heart.
My thoughts and prayers are with Yvette, Lawrence, and family. I hope you all can find solace in the knowledge that you’re mother was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her.

My mom was my biggest champion through my life. She was strict but loving, she was smart, witty and loved to laugh and entertain friends,
She was a wonderful mother, confidant, mentor and friend. I will miss her dearly.
I did want to share a few wonderful photo of her.

Lawrence….it was our PLEASURE to be friends with both your parents, I loved talking to your Dad, he was funny and interesting; I volunteered with your Mom at a local gallery here in town….she was the epitome of grace and kindness…..they enjoyed life to the fullest while they were home for the Summer and every year when we came up from Florida (I am a Lubec native) I’d say “The Pelky’s are here” when we drove by their sweet place………sending you condolences in friendship and love…………

Larry & Yvette – Robb & I are so very sorry for your loss. Your mother always lit up the room when she entered it. We see the love and qualities that defined her reflected in the two of you, her dear Children. I know she and your dad are so very proud of you for the incredible efforts you put into taking care of her the best you possibly could before and after he passed away. Please try to take some measure of comfort that she’s happy with your dad now and no longer suffering in this world. Sending love to you and your family. Scott Handley & Robb Greenhoe

Yvette and Family: Sorry for the loss of your mother, Rose Marie. When I first started to summer in Lubec, Rose Marie was my tour guide, showing me all the great spots to visit in Lubec and Campobello. I have fond memories walking downtown Lubec with her sitting at the marina, watching the fishing boats come in and also walking the beaches on Campobello. Lubec will not be the same without your parents. They will be missed.
