Phyllis “Penny” Miller
Obituary
MILLER, Phyllis (Penny) Phyllis Penelope (Penny) Ponikowski Miller, of Frisco, TX, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2022, at the age of 83, while surrounded by her daughter, son and daughter in-law.
Penny was born in Buffalo, NY in December 1938. She graduated from West Seneca High School and then attended University of Buffalo. She married Raymond E. Miller, also from Buffalo, on June 1, 1957, at the early age of 19 and remained married to the love of her live until his death on August 6, 2019. Penny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to those who knew her. She enjoyed life to the fullest.
Her interests included traveling, gardening, dinner club, entertaining family and friends, following her beloved Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, caring for her and Ray’s dogs through the years, playing Canasta, and Slurpee’s. Penny loved the sighting of cardinals: they gave her joy to watch them and pause to remember those who she lost and that they would forever be in her spirit. Penny is preceded in death by her parents, Stan & Fay Ponikowski, and husband, Ray Miller. She is survived by her sister, Judy Nessen; brother, Fred Ponikowski; son, Mark D. Miller (married to Nancy Treadwell Miller); daughter, Julie Miller; grandchildren Sarah Miller Edgecomb (married to Robb Edgecomb), Caroline Miller Toups (married to Stephen Toups) and Hunter Lee Treadwell. Penny was also a proud Great Grandmother to Jack, Claire, Reed and Graham Edgecomb and Miller Toups.

Testimonials

It was such a nice pleasure to meet you, and what you had planned for my father just took my breath away. It was so special to hear you tell us how he would just come over to talk with you. I think it brought him much comfort. Tha you for putting that Air Force article of him on your website. I am going to have a replica made of the painting of his plane to give you. Thank you again for all you have done to honor our dad. Love, The Gillilands
