Obituary

On Wednesday December 7th 2022 the world lost an amazing woman. Patricia Hanssens passed peacefully. Pat was born September 9th, 1950 Born Willard and Alice Reynolds in Elkton, Maryland. She is survived by her husband, Russ Hanssens; siblings, Jane McWilliams and Barb Sauer; daughter, Heather Harris; and granddaughter, Meghan Harris.

Pat maintained lifelong friendships with the people she met in the amazing places she worked and lived. In her final year, she saw her granddaughter graduate college and celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary. She worked tirelessly to ensure the happiness of others, loved sports, game shows, and friendly competition. She loved capturing moments on film and humming along to any song. She loved any opportunity to celebrate and always had a positive outlook. She made the best bloody marys even if she never drank them.

In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who wish, will make a donation in her name to one of the following foundations:

They walked me through what to expect the timeline and even dealt with the cemetery and the grave diggers. I was a hot mess due to my brothers sudden and unexpected passing. It was such a nice pleasure to meet you, and what you had planned for my father just took my breath away. It was so special to hear you tell us how he would just come over to talk with you. I think it brought him much comfort. Thank you for putting that Air Force article of him on your website. I am going to have a replica made of the painting of his plane to give you.
