Obituary
Michael Gene Dewey
January 30, 1955 – December 22, 2021
Michael Gene Dewey passed away on December 22, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lafond and Alva, step-parents, Nancy and John and brother Tom. Mike is survived by his children, Cinthia Cooley, Christopher Dewey, and Jessica Dewey; his blended family children Patrick Knapp, Kimberly Knapp, Kristin Miller, and Britney Garrett; his grandchildren, Taylor Dewey, Christena Dewey, Courtney Cooley, Kyndal Cooley, Brandon Knapp, Aiden Knapp and Catie Knapp; his siblings Vickie, Renee, Debbie and David; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who made his life so special. He was “Uncle Mike,” to many people, always offering support to anyone who needed an extra person added to their family.
Mike was a proud Navy veteran, having served during Vietnam. He spent many years serving other veterans and his community through his work with the ambulance services and outreach centers. He was quick to make friends, having never met a stranger. Mike was devout in his faith, believing that anyone could change if they put their faith in God and tried.
Mike was an avid Cowboys fan and his Sundays were spent watching the pre-game specials, the games themselves, and any post-game news that would prepare him for the following week. He was steadfast in his passion for the team and would consistently tell anyone who listened that this year was “the Cowboys year for the Super Bowl,” even if there was no chance.
Mike will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. We take solace knowing that he is residing with our Savior, playing with every pet he has ever cared for, humming to his own tune, sharing movie trivia, and telling everyone about how the Cowboys are the greatest team in the NFL.
Testimonials

It was such a nice pleasure to meet you, and what you had planned for my father just took my breath away. It was so special to hear you tell us how he would just come over to talk with you. I think it brought him much comfort. Tha you for putting that Air Force article of him on your website. I am going to have a replica made of the painting of his plane to give you. Thank you again for all you have done to honor our dad. Love, The Gillilands
