“I highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brother’s arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks.”

Obituary of
Margaret J. “Margie” Binford
Margaret J. “Margie” Binford was born May 4, 1934, in Dallas, Texas. She married Bill on October 10, 1953 and moved to Farmers Branch in 1955. They were active members of Christ United Methodist Church in Farmers Branch for over 60 years. Margie was preceded in death by Bill, her husband of 69 years, and leaves behind two sisters, Gloria and Jeannie, a daughter and son in law, Pam and Ken Sumrow of Plano, a son and daughter in law Jeff and Pam Binford of Farmers Branch, five grandchildren and their spouses: Christy Byerly, Will and Alison Binford, Clint Sumrow, Lauren and Bobby Frey and Katie and Blair Casey; along with nine great-grandchildren: Weston, Addy, Jack, Justin, Emma, Grayson, Ellie, Ava and Cora, with another granddaughter due to arrive in January.
Margie worked as a secretary at the church for many years before working at Farmers Branch Elementary. After her retirement, she worked with the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau, The Cotton Bowl and volunteered with the Farmers Branch Visitors Bureau.
Margie and Bill were always active in their community. They were members of the Farmers Branch Jaycees, and served on most, if not all boards at Christ United Methodist Church at one time or another. They loved volunteering their time for the community and church, from providing information for visitors to delivering meals on wheels. Together, they enjoyed all social activities and they were known and loved by many.
When not spending time with her great grandchildren, Margie enjoyed golf for many years. She looked forward to the Christmas holidays year-round, and constantly shopped for all her loved ones.
