King Jr., Grady P. Passed from this earth on Sunday, November 15, 2009, after a brief battle with cancer. Grady was born April 9, 1924, the firstborn of Grady Palmer King, Sr. and Sara Ann Cosby King in Birmingham, AL. He entered into the U.S. Navy in 1941 and served his country in the Pacific during WWII. He married Sarah Loretta Glasscock on May 26, 1943, and they were married for 66 years. They moved to Farmers Branch in 1955 where they resided until his passing. Grady worked as a brick-mason for Bricklayers Local #5. He was a 2-time Past Master of Jas. A. Smith Lodge #395, an 8-time Past Patron of Farmers Branch Chapter #687 OES, and a member of Love Field Chapter & Council of the York Rite. Grady is survived by his loving wife Loretta and his 5 children: Sandra Deel and husband Mike; Mike King and wife Sharon; Greg King and wife Theresa, Lisa Jones and husband Kevin; and Carla Allen; his mother Sara King, 104, his sister Bernice Price and brother Jimmy King of Montgomery, AL; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many more relatives and friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Farmers Branch with Sam Underwood officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FBCFB Scholarship Fund.
