Obituary
Julian L. Shufelt (Jute) of Era, Texas passed away on December 21, 2022. He was born on May 13th 1947
and was the son of the late Julian and Cornelia Schuck Shufelt. Jute was a 1966 graduate of Groton
Central School and a proud Vietnam Veteran who was a long time member of Groton Legion Post 800,
the Moravia VFW and Gainesville, TX VFW. He enjoyed working on cars and was always willing to give a
helping hand to anyone that needed it. Jute retired from Peterbilt after many years of service.
Survivors include close friend, Terri Roberts of Texas, son Jon Shufelt and daughter Megan (Felipe)
Sostre from NY, sisters Francis Shufelt of Arizona, Phyllis Sims of NY, Connie Feirick of Arizona and
brother Phillip Schuck of Kansas, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jute
was pre-deceased by his twin sister Mary Lou, sister Betty Roscioli and brother Larry Shufelt.
