Obituary
Our beloved Mother, Judith Gail Rhodes passed away on September 24, 2022, after a brief illness.
Judith Rhodes was born on June 7, 1942, to Betty Serota in Oakland, CA. After graduation from high school, she joined the Air Force and served in the combat support group from 1961 to 1965. After her service, she dedicated her time to raising her family. Later, through her adult years, she worked as a Trial Paralegal.
Judy lived her life to the fullest. She was very proud to be a veteran and was very proud of her service. She liked to attend various VA events and enjoyed being in the company of other veterans. She loved to go to the gift shop at the Dallas VA to shop during her many appointments. She would wear her VA clothing that she purchased proudly. Judy was also very outgoing and made friends very easily. She loved all the friends that she made, and they loved her! She made a big impression with other people over the years.
Judy was predeceased by her mother Betty Serota. She is survived by her daughters , Samantha Schwartz and Millicent Rhodes, son in law Andrew Schwartz, grandchildren Seth Schwartz, Sarah Schwartz, Zachary Schwartz, and Miriam Eiben.
Services will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on Thursday October 6, 2022, at 1 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The US Department of Veterans Affairs
Testimonials

It was such a nice pleasure to meet you, and what you had planned for my father just took my breath away. It was so special to hear you tell us how he would just come over to talk with you. I think it brought him much comfort. Tha you for putting that Air Force article of him on your website. I am going to have a replica made of the painting of his plane to give you. Thank you again for all you have done to honor our dad. Love, The Gillilands

May God hold you all in the palm of His hands. Protect you, guide you and heal all hurt. Keep only good memories. I love the obit. Judy was quite the gal.
Love,
Mom & Dad Portet
Judy was my friend from the moment we met. Her outgoing, vivacious spirit just drew me to her from day one. On that day, she invited me to see her newly furnished apartment at Dayspring Senior Living where we laughed at how much we both absolutely love the color red …and I marveled at how much it adorned her beautifully decorated room!
She took me on a pictorial journey through her Air Force years of service. She was a proud Veteran and Patriot and lit up with every memory she shared. I introduced her to my WWII Pearl Harbor survivor Dad, who also lived there, and they became fast friends. I will always remember the fun we had pouring over the most current edition of the VA Hospital Gift Shop’s catalog! She kept us up on the latest, and we 3 became some of their best customers! Judy, like my Dad, never knew a stranger! She was loving and kind to all the other residents, and she was missed by all when she moved to a new place. Especially me! I count it a blessing to have had the honor and privilege of getting to know her and call her my friend. Till’ we meet again, the memory of her laugh, her zest for life, and her spunky spirit will always bring a smile to my heart. Rest in Peace my friend, till’ I see ya later just like I promised when I last visited you!
Judy and I became fast friends as working colleagues at SnyderGeneral Corporation 30 years ago. And remained personal dear friends beyond our time there.
She was with me at car dealership twice when I was purchasing a Volkswagen over the years. The latest being
a red one! We both shared a love for the color too. So I feel her energy when I drive that bright red car around. Thanks for helping me choose it, Judy.
I will remember her positivity, infectious laugh and readiness to lunch and shop always. And talking for hours on phone.
She always said…Life is a temporary assignment…
How true that is. I know all who loved, cherished and knew her will see her again in the beyond.
Love and condolences especially to her daughters Samantha and Millicent. What a great lady with a beautiful heart.
We are all blessed to have known her and have her in our lives. Rest in Peace dear friend.
Dear Samantha and family.
I’m sorry for your loss of your lovely mom. How lucky you are to have such a wonderful honorable mom. May she forever be in peace with God. Sympathy to all your family. RIP lovely lady of valor. Toni, Jamie
