Jay Riley Crenshaw, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, pastor, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the age of 72 in Carrollton, TX. He was born on June 17, 1950, in Dallas, TX, to Dr. Allen and Jacqueline Crenshaw.

Jay is survived in death by his wife Marsha who was the love of his life; daughter and son in law Carolyn and Russ Rogers, their daughter and son in law Lyndsay and Andrew McKenzie and their children Cooper and Cash, and their sons Andrew, Jacob Riley and his bride to be Tatum; a son and daughter in law Aaron and Calli Keener, and their children Corbin, Brock, Deacon and Autumn; a son and daughter in law Jason and Melinda Crenshaw and their children Riley, Mendel and Eden; a son and daughter in law Joe Riley and Miranda Crenshaw and their children Isabella, Hadley, Rivers and Immanuel Jay; his siblings Karen Groves, Clark Crenshaw and Allen Crenshaw and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jay passed away after a long and courageous battle with complications from multiple cancer treatments. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Allen and Jacqueline Crenshaw.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, April 17th, at 10 am at Providence Church located at 5625 Preston Road, Frisco, TX 75034. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jay’s honor to https://www.purecharity.com/fundraisers/5734/fund

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to VITAS Hospice of Carrollton, especially Jay’s caregivers, Cathy and Amy, for their love and care during his final days.

Jay’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched during his time on earth. His unwavering faith, kindness, and love for his family and friends will be deeply missed.

My thoughts and prayers to your whole family. I never met Jay in person, but we talked and texted many times as I worked in Central Asia, and we had many mutual friends we ministered to together. Jay touched countless lives in my country, and I am so thankful for how much he shared the Gospel with so many people. He has an inheritance in Heaven. He was such a loving and kind man! Many have felt his love. Chas H.

I remember Jay from high school, where he was the mascot in our senior year, and generally a great guy all around. Later we reconnected at one of the HHS reunions, and I’ve been able to keep up with his family and ministry through Facebook. Jay will be missed by many. I’m keeping the family in my thoughts.

My thoughts and prayers go to you, Marsha, and the rest of the Crenshaw family. I knew Jay, most of our lives, starting when we went to Preston Hollow elementary school together, then Ben Franklin, junior high, and finally Hillcrest high school.
His friends from school will remember his kindness, and just a friendly and loving nature.
May his memory be a blessing to you all.
