I’ve known Grant since we were crib buddies in the early 1950’s. Our parents were very close and played a lot of bridge. He was a year behind me at TJ. I still fondly remember a trip to Port Aransas that we took following my graduation from TJ in 1969 with his Mom Jan. When Grant later joined the Marines my Dad wrote a letter to Grant every other day while he was at boot camp to keep his spirits up. Unfortunately our paths diverged after we each got married in the mid 70’s. We only spoke sporadically after that. Grant reached out to me a week before he died saying he wanted to get together for a cool one. We met at his favorite bar in Richardson and had a terrific three hour visit, got caught up on things, and planned another meeting with my wife, and my brother and his wife. Sadly, Grant passed away the next day. I will always regret letting all those years get away from us. Grant was truly one of a kind with his infectious belly laugh, razor sharp wit, and kindness to others. I will miss him a lot!! SEMPER FI GYRENE!!!!

  18. I’ve known Grant since we were crib buddies in the early 1950’s. Our parents were very close. Unfortunately our paths diverge

    He will be sorely missed….

  21. When I first met Grant I knew he was a colorful character. Once I got to know him I knew I was blessed to call him a friend. He always had a story to share. And he always had a jalapeño for a snack and offered to share. He lived hard and loved hard. He will be missed by so many, but we all have our stories to allow us to never forget a legend. A true hero.
