GLADYS LORAYNE JOHNSON WAS BORN ON AUGUST 8, 1927 TO CHARLES L. WHITE AND JUANITA G. EDWARDS IN SACRAMENTO, CA., AND WAS RAISED IN MODOC,CA WHERE SHE WAS KNOWN TO HAVE A PASSION FOR RIDING HORSES.

     ON JANUARY 26, 1952 SHE MARRIED HER LOVING HUSBAND ROY JOHNNY JOHNSON
SHE WAS A LOVELY BRIDE AND HE A VERY PROUD GROOM.  THE  TWO WERE MARRIED FOR AN AMAZING 69 HAPPY YEARS.   SADLY ON AUGUST 11, 2022 LORAYNE PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 95, SURROUNDED BY HER LOVING FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
     SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER MOTHER AND FATHER , HER BROTHER ROSS,
AND 2 OF HER CHILDREN GAIL, AND CHARLA.
     LORAYNE AND JOHNNY HAD 4 CHILDREN  ROSS, GAIL, KIM, AND CHARLA
13 GRANDCHILDREN MICHELLE, RICKY, PAUL, LISA, SANDRA, ANGELA, TROY, JESSE, RUSTY, KC, CINDA, SPENCER, AND SARA
12 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AS WELL AS
10 GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN
     LORAYNE WILL BE REMEMBERED AS A LOVING WIFE, WONDERFUL MOTHER, AND AMAZING GRANDMOTHER.  SHE WAS THE INDEPENDENT, STRONG MATRIARCH OF HER FAMILY, THE TRUE GLUE THAT HELD THEM ALL TOGETHER WITH BOTH HER QUICK SMILE AND LOVING HEART.
    LORAYNE WAS A TRULY GIVING PERSON, SHE GAVE OF HER TIME, HER KNOWLEDGE AND HER LOVE .  SHE FILLED THE HOUSE WITH MUSIC . MANY DAYS WERE PASSED LISTENING AS SHE SANG TO HER CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN OR WENT ABOUT HER DAILY ROUTINE HUMMING WITH A SMILE.
     LORAYNE AND JOHNNY SHARED A MUTUAL LOVE OF TRAVEL SOME OF THEIR FAVORITE ADVENTURES WERE THEIR CRUISES TO ALASKA AND MEXICO.  THE DESTINATION DIDN’T MATTER AS LONG AS THEY WERE TOGETHER.  THE TWO PASSED THEIR LOVE OF TRAVEL ON TO THEIR CHILDREN , WITH FAMILY TRIPS TO PLACES LIKE MT SHASTA AND LAKE TAHOE ALONG WITH CAR RIDES FILLED WITH SONG AND LAUGHTER, YEARS OF MEMORIES PACKED INTO MERE MOMENTS.
     SHE WILL BE FOREVER MISSED AND HELD TIGHT IN THE HEARTS AND MEMORIES OF THOSE SHE HAS LEFT BEHIND  HER RESILIENT SPIRIT WAS A TRUE BRIGHT LIGHT FILLING THE FAMILY’S WORLD WITH LOVE.  AS A WRITER ONCE WROTE
        “IT IS OUR TURN TO SHINE YOUR LIGHT ON THE REST OF THE WORLD,
          SO YOU MAY REST IN PEACE”

They walked me through what to expect the timeline and even dealt with the cemetery and the grave diggers. I was a hot mess due to my brothers sudden and unexpected passing. It was such a nice pleasure to meet you, and what you had planned for my father just took my breath away. It was so special to hear you tell us how he would just come over to talk with you. I think it brought him much comfort. Tha you for putting that Air Force article of him on your website. I am going to have a replica made of the painting of his plane to give you.
