“I highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brother’s arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks.”

Elena Alkhazoff Hall
Elena Hall, passed away on May 29th , 2023 at the age of 95. Services will be held over 2 days, with a Panikhida on Wednesday, June 7th at 6pm. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, June 8th at 10am. Both services will be held at St. Seraphim Orthodox Cathedral in Dallas, TX.
Elena was born on June 20, 1927, in Tehran, Iran. She was the daughter of Russian immigrants, who migrated to Tehran, during the Communist Revolution. Elena, grew up in Iran, and attended French Catholic School, and a Russian High School. In Tehran, she worked in a dental office as an assistant, often performing advanced procedures. Looking to advance her education, Elena traveled to New York in 1957, and attended Kerpel School of Dental Technology. She met her husband, John Hall, who was in also attending the school. In 1959, they married, and moved to Texas, where John was from. Elena worked with John in their dental laboratory in Fort Worth. She specialized in porcelain and manufactured restorations for dental placement.
During her entire life, her focus was always her family and her faith. Being raised as a Russian Orthodox Christian had a meaningful influence on her. When she arrived in Texas, she immediately became involved in the Orthdox Church in Dallas. In 1979 as the church was looking to establish a mission in Fort Worth, Elena spoke with John, and they agreed to provide a space in their dental lab, for the mission to be built. St. Barbara’s Orthodox Mission was born. For 5 years, services were held in this space, and My Mom and many other dedicated families were involved in every aspect, from singing in the choir, making of the bread for communion, providing coffee, meals, and welcoming all. She said, this was one of the greatest accomplishments of her life.
After her retirement, she moved to Dallas, and was involved in St. Seraphim’s Orthodox Cathedral. She was revered and known by all the members and was still very active in the Russian community. Elena loved her family and was a loving Mom and dedicated to her son, Michael. Throughout her life, she remained close to her Nieces and Nephews. She made many friends inside and outside the church. Her life was long and full of joy.
As she grew older, Elena never complained about her health challenges. When asked how she was feeling, she always smiled and said I am Ok. She had the ability to make an impact on all who met her. So much so, that people went out of their way to help her, especially in her later years. She will be missed by many, and she made a positive impact on all who met her. She is survived by her son and his wife, Michael and Sharon Hall of Fairview, and many nieces and nephews from around the world.
