Obituary
David James Odom, 77, of Irving Texas passed away on Tuesday April 4, 2023. He was born on December 21, 1945, in Ft. Worth Texas. David is the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Odom and Danny Myrtle Welbourn Odom. He was known by many names Dad, Daddy, Dave, Pappy, Honey, and Ziggy. Dave served 5 years in the US Navy working on the flight deck. Dave spent most of his working years as a parts guy for Texas Kenworth. He was a long-term member of Story Rd. Baptist Church. Dave had an unbelievable love for all animals, he had 3 dogs, 1 cat, 4 birds, 2 chickens, and 2 turtles.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Renee Walker, son in law George Hall, grandson Colton Tippett and a very special friend Jeannie Bone.
Dave is survived by his wife of 49 years Linda Nell Odom, 5 daughters Tina Hackett, Shannon Hall, Jaiden Odom, Debbie Shepard Linch, and Vicki Shepard Sumrow, one son Joel Odom, and son in law James Walker. Grandchildren James Hall, Andrea Hall, Zane Hall, Chance Hackett, Michael Tippett and Jimmy Linch. Dave had a special extended niece Jennifer Bone Smallwood.
Funeral Services have been entrusted to North Dallas Funeral Home, A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 17,2023 at 12:00pm at North Dallas Funeral Home located at 2710Valley View Ln, Farmers Branch, TX 75234.Mr. Odom will be laid to rest at DFW National Cemetery at 2:00pm.
