Obituary
David Lane Mitcham passed away at the age of 59 at his home in Carrollton Texas on Wednesday March 31st after a courageous battle with Cancer, He was born October 20, 1962 in Beaumont Texas, grew up in Houston until his high school years when he moved to Farmers Branch.
David is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Joanna, their daughters Lindsey Mitcham and Katie Rickey, son in law Kendall Rickey and beautiful grandson Hudson Allen Rickey. And he is also survived by his mother Dona Danforth, brother Mike Mitcham, sister Amy McKinley and husband Scott and many loving family members. He is reunited in Heaven with his father Claude Mitcham, brother Tommy Mitcham, nephew Thomas Mitcham., and father in law Willie Willliams. As well as his beloved Grandparents Mamaw and Papaw Mitcham and many others.
David was a devoted husband, father and Papaw and lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sitting around a campfire. Spending time with his grandson Hudson reading a good book about trucks was the highlight of his days these past few months. David was a great friend to many and he loved each and every one. David was also a dedicated employee at Hampel Oil. He was one of the hardest workers and cancer was not going to change that. He loved the Lord with all his heart and soul and that never waivered in the trying years of his cancer diagnoses. He knew his heavenly home awaited him and he was ready to sit at the feet of Jesus.
The family would like to acknowledge the care that David received from his hospice nurses over the last 4 months. Rhonda, Michelle and Rita were a true gift from above. They lovingly cared for David medically but also emotionally. Faith Presbyterian Hospice was a blessing for us during Davis’s transition.
Services will be at Valwood Baptist Church where David served many years as a faithful member and devoted Deacon.

Testimonials

It was such a nice pleasure to meet you, and what you had planned for my father just took my breath away. It was so special to hear you tell us how he would just come over to talk with you. I think it brought him much comfort. Thank you for putting that Air Force article of him on your website. I am going to have a replica made of the painting of his plane to give you. Thank you again for all you have done to honor our dad. Love, The Gillilands
