Carol Sue Henricks
Obituary
Carol Sue Henricks of Richardson, Texas peacefully passed away in her home on May 24, 2023. Carol was born September 1, 1946, in Tulsa Oklahoma to Paul & Marcette (Hobson) Hamm. Carol met the love of her life, Gerald Henricks on a blind date in 1969 and they were happily married for 52 years.
Together Carol and Gerald had two daughters, Kristin and Jenny. Carol was a devoted wife and nurturing mother who created a loving and warm home.
Carol entered into a personal relationship with Jesus as a young adult and grew in her spiritual walk throughout her life. She and Gerald made Woodcreek, formerly Richland Bible Fellowship, their church home for over 40 years. Together they found joy through serving and in the fellowship of their community groups. We take comfort in Philippians 3:21 that Carol’s body has been made whole, free from Parkinson’s Disease and all of its complications.
Carol was born to be a teacher and loved nothing more than helping a child discover the love of reading. Carol obtained her teaching degree from Tulsa University and later earned her M. Ed. From the University of North Texas. Her career in education spanned over 30 years from teaching in the classroom to becoming a principal.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Brian Graham. She is survived by her husband, Gerald; daughters and sons-in-law Kristin and Craig Kelly of Rowlett, TX and Jenny & Scott Anglin of Siloam Springs, AR; grandchildren William Kelly, Ava Anglin, Jane Anglin & Creighton Kelly; sister and brother-in-law Linda & Jim Graham; nieces Kendall Morgan and her husband Paul & Dina Graham and a host of great nieces and extended family.
The family extends a special thanks to caregivers Gwen, Lori and Adam for their loving care throughout her Parkinson’s journey and in her last days.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a cause near to (aunt) Carol’s heart:

Testimonials

It was such a nice pleasure to meet you, and what you had planned for my father just took my breath away. It was so special to hear you tell us how he would just come over to talk with you. I think it brought him much comfort. Thank you for putting that Air Force article of him on your website. I am going to have a replica made of the painting of his plane to give you. Thank you again for all you have done to honor our dad. Love, The Gillilands
