Moore, Sharron June

Obituary

Sharron June Moore, daughter of Roy and Mary Lynn McKelroy was born October 19, 1940. On March 24, 2014 she went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Sharron spent 57 of her 73 years married to the love of her life, Hayward (Woody) Moore. Born in Austin, she was a native Texan and proud of it. Her and Woody are the parents of Hayward Jr. (Scoash), and Randy Moore of Coppell and Austin respectfully. Sharron loved many things in life but none more than her granddaughters Kaitlyn, Jessica and Melissa to whom she often provided that wise counsel and comforting arms only grandmothers can give. Later in life through marriage she gained two grandsons and another granddaughter, Jason, Craig and Chelsea. Then with the birth of Kaitlyn’s son Aiden, she became a great grandmother.

In addition to family, Sharron had several hobbies and favorite pastimes. As mentioned before, she loved her native Texas. In fact, Scoash and Randy got the requisite trip to the Alamo as soon as they could spell Travis, Bowie or Crockett. And if you had a question about family genealogy, Sharron likely had already done the research. Throughout her life Sharron had a thirst for knowledge whether it was history, literature, or the sciences. In 1988 she proudly earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland.

Sharron and Woody moved to the Dallas area in 1988 and became members of First Baptist church of Grand Prairie. Later they relocated to Coppell and joined First Baptist of Coppell, now Grace Point Church. Wherever life took her, Sharron sought out a local body of Christ where she could serve, love, and grow. Just a few days before she passed Sharron was visited by chaplain staff at MD Anderson hospital. In conversation she boldly told them that while she desired more time she was willing to submit to God’s Will, whatever that might be. Today we do not have to wonder where our beloved Sharron resides. She has gone to be with the one whose love surpasses all understanding.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.

Please send the family condolences on this site.

"I highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brother’s arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks."

"The unexpected passing of my husband was a very difficult and trying time for my boys and I. I had the good fortune of having Abel walk us thru this process. Working with him was such a weight off my shoulders. He was professional, so polite and helpful. The service was beautiful – never did I feel rushed or like just another customer. They gave me the time I needed and I appreciate that so much! Also Mr. Brooks took special care of my husband as he is a fellow mason. I would highly recommend working with Abel and North Dallas Funeral Home."

"As soon as the call was made to Mr. Wayne Baxter all of my brothers final needs were taken care of. They walked me through what to expect the timeline and even dealt with the cemetery and the grave diggers. I was a hot mess due to my brothers sudden and unexpected passing. The experience was seamless and made it easy for my brother’s friends and family to say their last goodbyes. They even had the size to accommodate such a large group that showed up . The package deals that they offered were cost-effective and didn’t break my bank account. They included extras and accommodations that other funeral homes charged extra for. All the staff was amazing including Mr. Don Dodd . I can not thank them enough for all their help."

Dear John,

It was such a nice pleasure to meet you, and what you had planned for my father just took my breath away. It was so special to hear you tell us how he would just come over to talk with you. I think it brought him much comfort. Thank you for putting that Air Force article of him on your website. I am going to have a replica made of the painting of his plane to give you.

Thank you again for all you have done to honor our dad.

Love, The Gillilands
