“I highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brother’s arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks.”

Obituary of
Blanche Catherine Hollingsworth
Blanche Catherine Hollingsworth, age 87, a compassionate, generous, loving, and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on June 14, 2023. Born on June 6, 1936, in Denison, Texas, Blanche spent her life dedicated to her family and friends, creating lifelong memories with those she loved. Some of her fondest memory when she was little was visiting with her cousins at Grandma Bailey’s house, walking to Ma and Pa Kelly’s house for breakfast, and lunch. Charles and her keeping the crows out of the peanut crops. Blanche’s earliest ambitions were to become a barrel racer. She was an avid tennis and basketball player at Denison High School. As William Shakespeare said, “The love of family and the admiration of friends is much more important than wealth and privilege.” Blanche’s generous spirit was evident in the many activities she participated in. A native of Denison, Texas until her marriage to her late husband, Joe, she spent 68 years in Farmers Branch, Texas, where she was active in the Jaceettes; was a member of the DWBA, she also enjoyed monogramming; playing bridge with local friends for over 50 years. She loved watching her children and grandchildren participate in various activities, including football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, swimming, and stock shows. Blanche throughly enjoyed bowling, hunting, and traveling with Joe, having visited almost every state except Hawaii, they haven’t built a road there, or they would have traveled there too. Many things made her smile, but mostly it was being with her kids, grands and her greats. Joe and her were always positive and encouraging them. As Helen Keller once said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”
Blanche is survived by her children, daughter, Kelly Jo Stamp, husband Scott Stamp; daughter Karla Dawn Balluch; son Kraig Charles Hollingsworth, wife Susan; grandchildren; Bryan Scott Stamp, wife Emily; Korey Joe Stamp, wife Kenzie; Krista Karen Taber, husband Andrew; Kaci Lynn Gonzales, husband Chris; Kailey Ann Ethridge, husband Mark; Keaton Lee Hollingsworth, wife Jordan; Kalum Albert Balluch; Kodie Joe Balluch, wife Chelsie; and Kelsey Dawn Stewart, husband Michael; 16 great-grandchildren; Sister-in-law Wanda Kenney; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hollingsworth; her parents, Charley and Catherine Bailey; her brothers, Charles Bailey and Paul Bailey; Son-in-law, Rick Balluch, and her great-granddaughter, Layla Stamp.
