Obituary of Solomon, Ronald

Ronald Ray Solomon , After a lengthy battle with Covid-19 that he fought with everything he had, Ronald Ray Solomon (age 78), slipped away peacefully with his wife and his three great-nieces, Cheyenne, Brittany, and Savannah by his side at Presbyterian hospital in Dallas on October 3, 2021. Ron was born June 1, 1943, in Henderson, Nevada while his father was working on the Hoover Dam. He graduated from North Dallas High School in 1961. Attended Arlington State College in 1961 until 1964 before deciding to enlist in the Navy in 1965 where he worked as a flight engineer before retiring from the navy in 1992. He met his darling wife, Marie, on a blind date in 1971 before marrying her on November 4, 1978. There is no doubt Ron lived a full life and had God watching him closely. He’s probably the only man who can say he survived a small plane crash, motorcycle accident, and survived after being left in the Gulf of Mexico while scuba diving, dog paddling for hours, until a fishing boat saw him and brought him to shore. Ron had a love for Colorado, Conway Twitty & Elvis, His second amendment, flying, dirt bikes, sailing, snowmobiling, and everything in between as well as cars like his Oldsmobiles and his beloved 1997 Silverado Z71. Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Marie, His nieces and nephews, his great-nieces, Brittany Gwin and her husband Justin of Kennedale, Tx. Savannah Belk and her Husband Tre of Farmers Branch, Tx. Cheyenne Gwin and her Fiancé Jacob of Farmers Branch, Tx and Payton and Morgan Porubsky of Temple, Tx. As well as great-great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in Death with his loving parents Catherine and Elmer ‘Sol’ Solomon. His beloved German Shepherd, Boonie, and his favorite aunt and uncle, Fleta and Hugh Wilcox. He will be missed beyond words and his legacy will live on through his wife and the great-nieces he raised in Dallas. As Ron would say, Be Careful out there… It’s a jungle. Funeral Services have been entrusted to North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane Dallas, TX 75234, Visitation service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday October 19,2021 from 5pm-7pm. Followed by a funeral service on Wednesday October 20,2021 at 11:00am , Mr. Solomon will be laid to rest at the DFW National Cemetery on Wednesday October 20,2021 at 1:15pm https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/ Event ID: NDfh Password: 42AXYD

I will truly miss my Uncle Ron, he was a great guy and funny. He did a lot of fun things when I use to visit during the summer in Texas. I remember when he took my mom (Carol Warnick) and I downtown Dallas to show us his Dad’s bar, he drove right on the sidewalk. I thought it was fun, my mom found no humor in it. He was a great man. He will truly be missed. My husband and daughter fell in love with him when they met him for the first time. I am so happy they got to meet him. you are missed Uncle Ron, love always, Hannah, Mark, Isabella and Carol
