Obituary
Evelyn Nadine (Lutgen) Hale of Rockwall, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the age of 83.
Evelyn married her high school sweetheart, James Billy Hale, and they celebrated 65 years of marriage in February of this year. Both from Kansas City, MO, they raised their three children, Jim, Jennifer, and Bryon, in Huntsville, AL and Atlanta, GA, and were later 30-year residents of Richardson, TX.
Evelyn was an active 53-year member of PEO International, and sang in the PEO Chorus in Dallas, TX. Over the years, she was also a boy scout leader, girl scout leader, and Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed music and art; God and family were the center of her attention.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Herb Lutgen, sister Yvonne Dewitt, brother John Lutgen, sister, Francis Logdson, and sister-in-laws Janice Due and Nadine Lutgen.
Surviving in addition to her husband, James Hale, are her son, James Michael Hale (Mary Ann), Jennifer Hale Macie (Dana), Bryon Patrick Hale (Paige), brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Nancy Canatsey, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A service of remembrance was held 2 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2021, at Rockwall First United Methodist Church, the Reverend Joe Pool presiding. Those who wish to remember Evelyn in a special way may make gifts in her memory to PEO Chapter DO, Attention Jane Wells, 6301 Misty Trail Dallas, TX 75238. Please mark In Memory of Evelyn Hale.
