Plan Ahead

Sullivan, Noah Bernard

Noah Bernard Sullivan, 32, died in his sleep at his home in Dallas, TX on January 25, 2021. Son of Lianne Krueger Sullivan and James W. Sullivan, Noah was a student of history at Southern Methodist University, and a graduate of The Winston School.

A generous and gregarious soul, full of the love of life, he will be missed by all who knew him.

Noah was always a ready and loyal friend, a devoted Chelsea football fan, and a lover of travel from his earliest days with his family in Berlin to later travels in France, Japan and Korea. These shaped his openness to every experience, his compassion for others and his regard for the study of history and other cultures which he shared with all, from his friends to the students he tutored. He was a talented musician, starting the study of piano at three and later guitar. Since his earliest days he loved sports, from skateboarding with the Lakewood Rats, through years of soccer and football where his quickness and power served him well. From his mother Lianne, he learned the passion he devoted to all his projects, how to care for injured animals, and what made a drawing a good drawing. He met all with a beautiful smile and open arms.

Born in Holyoke Massachusetts, 1988 and adopted by James and Lianne Sullivan, Noah is  survived by his father James, his partner May, and his beloved dog Bazil.

Donations are gratefully encouraged to either: the Noah Bernard Sullivan Scholarship fund at The Winston School, which been established in his name and in honor of his favorite teacher Maryanne Fauble; or to the Humane Society.

A visitation will be held at the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, on Saturday January 30 from 1-4PM, where we ask that you attend safely and with respect for all health requirements.

All finite things reveal infinitude;

The mountain with its singular bright shade

Like the blue shine on freshly frozen snow,

The after-light upon ice burdened pines;

Odor of basswood on a mountain-slope,

A scent beloved of bees;

Silence of water above a sunken tree;

The pure serene of memory in one man, —

A ripple widening from a single stone

Winding around the waters of the world.

— Theodore Roethke, from The Far Field

We are all too often finite, alone, and unable, but infinite through our love and care of others. Good bye Noah.

Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

    I just heard of Noah’s passing from my daughter. I just asked my daughter when we were going to be reaching out to Noah to resume sessions since COVID. She goes on to tell me that she received a text a week ago from Noah’s girlfriend saying he had passed. My daughter seriously thought it was a prank. She thought to herself, It can’t be Noah is healthy and full of life. Then we both try calling him and both our calls go to his voice mail. Then my daughter researches the web and finds his obituary. We are beyond heartbroken to find out that the text message my daughter received was in fact true. Noah was the best tutor Jasmine ever had and he will live in our hearts forever. You will be greatly missed sweet Noah.

"I highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brother’s arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks."

"The unexpected passing of my husband was a very difficult and trying time for my boys and I. I had the good fortune of having Abel walk us thru this process. Working with him was such a weight off my shoulders. He was professional, so polite and helpful. The service was beautiful – never did I feel rushed or like just another customer. They gave me the time I needed and I appreciate that so much! Also Mr. Brooks took special care of my husband as he is a fellow mason. I would highly recommend working with Abel and North Dallas Funeral Home."

"As soon as the call was made to Mr. Wayne Baxter all of my brothers final needs were taken care of. They walked me through what to expect the timeline and even dealt with the cemetery and the grave diggers. I was a hot mess due to my brothers sudden and unexpected passing. The experience was seamless and made it easy for my brother’s friends and family to say their last goodbyes. They even had the size to accommodate such a large group that showed up . The package deals that they offered were cost-effective and didn’t break my bank account. They included extras and accommodations that other funeral homes charged extra for. All the staff was amazing including Mr. Don Dodd . I can not thank them enough for all their help."

Dear John,

It was such a nice pleasure to meet you, and what you had planned for my father just took my breath away. It was so special to hear you tell us how he would just come over to talk with you. I think it brought him much comfort. Tha you for putting that Air Force article of him on your website. I am going to have a replica made of the painting of his plane to give you.

Thank you again for all you have done to honor our dad.

Love, The Gillilands
