Gerry (Gran) Spangler, 88, passed away December 31, 2020 in Plano, Texas.

The service is invitation only, with an open viewing at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
Gran was born December 10, 1932, at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, Texas to Ruby and Raymond Guthrie.  Gran’s passion in life was to teach pre-school children at White Rock North School. She never met a stranger in her years on earth and loved her family/friends with all her heart. Gran enjoyed 72 years of marriage to the love of her life Boyce Spangler. She was the epitome of grace and devoted her life to serving Jesus Christ. Being an extraordinary mother/grandmother who loved unconditionally she will leave memories behind for generations to come.

She is survived by her husband, Boyce Spangler; daughter, Sharon Palmer; son, Joe Spangler and wife, Kathy Spangler; grandchildren, Austan Palmer, Shelby Moore and husband, Clint Moore, Shannon Patrick and husband, Jeremiah Patrick; great grandchildren, Trent Patrick; brother-in-law, Randall Spangler and wife, Judy Spangler; sister in-law, Tommy Braswell; sister-in-law, Maudine Vanderslice.

    Gerry,though i I haven’t seen you in some time i will always remember how beautiful, kind and sweet you always were.i just loved you to death.i pray God wraps his loving arms around your family and friends and give them comfort during this difficult were so precious..i loved you dearly..i will see you again one day.Tge lord just needed an extra angel.sincerely with so much love.

"As soon as the call was made to Mr. Wayne Baxter all of my brothers final needs were taken care of. They walked me through what to expect the timeline and even dealt with the cemetery and the grave diggers. I was a hot mess due to my brothers sudden and unexpected passing. The experience was seamless and made it easy for my brother’s friends and family to say their last goodbyes. They even had the size to accommodate such a large group that showed up . It was such a nice pleasure to meet you, and what you had planned for my father just took my breath away. It was so special to hear you tell us how he would just come over to talk with you. I think it brought him much comfort. Tha you for putting that Air Force article of him on your website. I am going to have a replica made of the painting of his plane to give you.
