Schilling, Parmalee (Lee) Allen
Parmalee (Lee) Allen Schilling, age 86, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020. She was born on September 19, 1934 in Madison, Wisconsin, the second child of Thomas Cort and Esther Liening Allen, following her brother, Thomas Cort Allen, Jr. After attending the University of Wisconsin for a year, she attended Northwestern University in Chicago, where she studied Dental Hygiene and met the love of her life, William (Bill) L. Schilling. They were married in Madison on November 6, 1955.
During their first year of marriage, when Bill was serving in the United States Army Audit Agency, they lived for several months in Toledo, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky. They moved to Dallas in January 1957 when he joined the staff of the Dallas office of KPMG LLP. Beginning in August 1963 they lived for two years in Sydney, Australia, two years in Brussels, Belgium, and four years in Paris, France, before returning to Dallas in 1971.
After returning to Texas, Lee became involved in numerous community organizations, including Northwood Woman’s Club, Northwood Republican Woman’s Club, Arthritis Foundation, A.W.A.R.E., Pastoral Counseling Center, The Dallas Symphony Orchestra League, the Woman’s Board of the Dallas Opera, the Center for Brainhealth, Dallas Woman’s Club, Dallas Garden Club, and the Mary K. Craig Class.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Nation of Dallas, Jane Agee and husband Rob of Prosper, and five grandchildren, William, Michael and Emily Nation, William Agee and wife Whitney, and Jennifer Agee. Lee’s brother Tom and his wife Donna reside in Lacey, Washington.
The Schillings are members of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, where a family memorial service will be held.
