Obituary
Reymundo “Rey” Garcia was born on September 26, 1963 in Fort Stockton, Texas. He passed away on November 12, 2020 in Farmers Branch, Texas at the age of 57.
Rey was employed by Motorola for 10 years, followed by 20 years with AT&T. Outside of work, Rey loved sports and was usually found on a softball field or basketball court. Described as “a hawk in the outfield who was fast on the bases,” Rey excelled at, and truly loved, softball. He was active in the Senior Softball League and travel tournaments and played for Texas Heat and Texas Elite. Rey was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.
Rey is survived by his wife Christina; his children Dominic and Natalia Garcia, Derrick Garcia and Judy Flores, and Jessica Gonzales; grandchildren Samuel, Yuna, Adrian, Camryn, Marissa and Evan; his mother Margarita Acosta; siblings Estella Garcia, Arturo Garcia and Karen Albritton, Carolina Vasquez, Alicia Garcia and Scott Furman, Ricardo and Elsa Garcia, Reyes and Juan Rojas, Danny Garcia and Jennifer Brown, Gloria and Ron Washington, Corina and Eric Gomez, Domingo Jr. and Loretta Acosta, Roy and Arlina Acosta, Tony and Paz Acosta, Ricky and Crystal Acosta and Jesse Acosta. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and teammates.
Rey is preceded in death by his parents Raymundo Garcia, Marcela Acosta and Domingo Acosta.
A Visitation and viewing will be on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 2:00 to 6:00pm at the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. The family will pray a rosary at 5:00pm.
Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, November 18 at 10:00am at the North Dallas Funeral Home.
Following the Funeral Mass, there will be a procession to Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220, where Rey will be laid to rest.

His life was far too short, but it made a big impact on the world. I am honored and blessed to have known Rey (Gar) since first grade. We were classmates and friends for life! Rey, I will miss you greatly. You always had a smile on your face and always brought positive energy no matter the situation. Until then, keep catching balls because you are now a true Angel in the outfield.
