Stringer, Carolyn Crawford
Obituary
Carolyn Stringer, 81, of Irving, Texas (Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex) joined her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and his Heavenly Father and her family members who preceded her in death. She passed away peacefully on a Friday evening November 29th, 2019. She was born on September 12th, 1938 in the small southern town of Bainbridge, Georgia, to her father John Harvey Crawford and his loving wife Manassie. She was the youngest of seven siblings. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Mr. Bob Stringer, retired Master Sergeant USAF and a 32nd Degree Mason; twin daughters Laura Jean Stringer and Linda Dee Stringer; Grandsons Brandon Allan Stringer and Zachary Ryan Stringer; great-granddaughters Reagan, Brielle, and Callista Stringer.
Carolyn’s greatest love was being a mother and housewife. After her twin daughters graduated highschool, Carolyn returned to her professional life working for GTE as a VP Executive Assistant for many years before retiring. Carolyn was a true Southern homemaker in every sense of the word and she always impressed everyone with her superb attention to detail in everything she made, or refurbished. She was incredibly talented and took great pride in doing things perfectly. Her hobbies included; crocheting, gardening, cooking, traveling, reading and what she enjoyed most was spending time with her family. As a Southern Georgia girl who grew up on a farm she could descale freshwater fish, such as Rainbow Trout, for big family fish frys. She made the best Salmon patties, Collard greens, and homemade chocolate cake with white butter icing. Everything she cooked or baked was out of this world delicious.
Carolyn was often accused of being selfish, but she would reply “only for my family”. Family was her priority in life, everything else was second. What we treasure most of all was her unconditional love and always providing a soft shoulder for our tears, however her words of wisdom always lifted our spirits and put us on our feet again. Our shared memories of her and her pearls of wisdom will stay with us always. As a Christian woman, faithful wife, loving mother, dutiful daughter, devoted grandmother, playful Aunt or trusted friend, we are all grateful to Almighty God for such a strong woman to call on when needed. She will be sorely missed on Earth, but welcomed by her heavenly family with open arms.

"I highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brother’s arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks."

"The unexpected passing of my husband was a very difficult and trying time for my boys and I. I had the good fortune of having Abel walk us thru this process. Working with him was such a weight off my shoulders. He was professional, so polite and helpful. The service was beautiful – never did I feel rushed or like just another customer. They gave me the time I needed and I appreciate that so much! Also Mr. Brooks took special care of my husband as he is a fellow mason. I would highly recommend working with Abel and North Dallas Funeral Home."

"As soon as the call was made to Mr. Wayne Baxter all of my brothers final needs were taken care of. They walked me through what to expect the timeline and even dealt with the cemetery and the grave diggers. I was a hot mess due to my brothers sudden and unexpected passing. The experience was seamless and made it easy for my brother’s friends and family to say their last goodbyes. They even had the size to accommodate such a large group that showed up . The package deals that they offered were cost-effective and didn’t break my bank account. They included extras and accommodations that other funeral homes charged extra for. All the staff was amazing including Mr. Don Dodd . I can not thank them enough for all their help."

Dear John,
It was such a nice pleasure to meet you, and what you had planned for my father just took my breath away. It was so special to hear you tell us how he would just come over to talk with you. I think it brought him much comfort. Thank you for putting that Air Force article of him on your website. I am going to have a replica made of the painting of his plane to give you. Thank you again for all you have done to honor our dad. Love, The Gillilands
