Rick was born in Abilene, Texas Nov. 14, 1955 and passed away March 2, 2013 in Plano, Texas after a 3 year battle with cancer. Rick was a graduate of Washington State University with a degree in Range management which he put to use in raising cattle. He was equally at home on a horse or in his pickup and was an expert with rifle or shotgun. Rick was predeceased by his mother, Euvonne R. Thompson;and sister, Elizabeth Jane. He is survived by sons, Timothy and Allan; father, Richard W. Thompson, Jr.; sister, Hilary T. Hutson and husband, John; nephew, Miles Hutson and niece, Jennifer Hutson. Services will be 9:45 am March 16 at West Plano Presbyterian Church, 2709 Custer Rd, Plano, Texas and concluded at Rick’s home place, 824 Maple Rd, Gunter, Texas.
